Inman Park Security Update

All,
We had 2 serious incidents yesterday afternoon and night.
A woman was robbed of her purse at gun point in the park behind the MARTA station (Euclid and Hurt ). APD and Marta Police chased the suspect but he was able to escape by running onto the MARTA tracks.
A man was robbed at gun point on Colquitt around 3am. There was an APD cruiser nearby that gave immediate chase.  The suspects drove away in a Ford Expedition. The vehicle was abandoned in the Old 4th Ward area and APD is processing the vehicle for clues.
Both of these incidents demonstrate that we need to continue be aware of our surroundings. The robbery near the MARTA station happened in broad daylight. This shows a real lack of concern by the suspect.
APD and our officers of the Inman Park Security Patrol are following up on the investigation.

AMEX for membership renewal/sign up

All-

We are working diligently to get American Express acccepted on the inmanpark.org website but it looks like it will not be active until May 7th or 8th. I will post an update as soon as it is available. While the option for AMex is available, trying to run a card on it will result in an error #25, which apparently means that our AMex merchant acount has not linked up yet.

In the meantime, the Visa and Mastercard options are working fine!

Thanks for all of the positive feedback on the shopping cart and online directory. Once you get past that initial log in, it should be smooth sailing. Just remember that you sign in using your username (not your e-mail address) and that there is just one username per household.

New IPNA/Security Patrol Sign Up Tips and Tricks

All-

So far feedback has been great on the new IPNA and Security Patrol sign up and
the online directory. Here are a few tips for those of you that might have
issues or questions:

-you can get to the sign up portal several ways though the imanpark.org website
- “Join IPNA and Security Patrol” on the homepage, “Make Payments” on the
Association Page, and “Join Online” on the Security Patrol page. They all take
you to the same place.

https://inmanpark.org/membership-and-security-patrol-registration/

-use your e-mail address to request your password. You will be e-mailed your
username and password. Not sure which e-mail address you are signed up under?
E-mail me and I’ll look it up.

-use your username (NOT your e-mail) and password to login. -
We had to generate usernames in order to populate the directory, and they cannot
be changed, so no, you can’t be “ip_stud” (besides, that one is taken) Most are
firstname_lastname. We didn’t get creative.

-we did our best to enter everyone who was in the old system from last year into
the new, but if you are not there when you try to request your username and
password, don’t fret – you just get to start from scratch and pick your own
username. (remember, “ip_stud” is taken)

-you can change your password at any time after you are logged in by editing it
in your profile. In fact, we recommend this be the first thing you do. If you
forget it, no worries, the system will send you a new one on request (provided
you remember your e-mail address)

-if you are signing up for the first time (just moved here, never been a member,
haven’t been a member in years), you can make up your own username during the
sign up process but it can’t be changed after that (remember, “ip_stud” is
taken)

-Once you login that first time, your username should pop up as an option when
you type the first letter of it in the “username” box to save you some time and
brain cells.

-yes, you can still fill out a paper application if you prefer, but someone will
have to manually enter it (me) so it would be cool if you did it online to give
my carpal tunnel a rest. You can still pay by check (there’s a button for that)
and fill out the app online. Also, the Online Directory is pretty cool so you’ll
want to go ahead and get logged in.

-Speaking of the online directory, once you are logged in you can edit your
information at any time. There are still some place holders (such as the phone
number 1-111-1111 and some non-existent pet names (Fido-dog) so if you see those
in your profile, please delete them. We did our best to clean it up as much as possible
but it’s a whole lot of info. Anything isn’t right in your profile or directory
listing? You can change it! (except your username…)

-Amex should be up and running soon but until then, Visa/Mc and cash/check are
working fine.

Again, ping me with any questions or assistance. And sign up for IPNA and Patrol
if you haven’t already (yesterday was technically the due date but we’ll let it
slide….)

New IPNA and Security Patrol Sign up and Online Directory!

All-

We have updated the online sign -up system for IPNA and Security Patrol.  This system is going to make it easier than ever for you to keep your memberships up to date and also includes a great new feature – a password protected Online Directory that can only be accessed when you are signed into your account. We will be rolling out new features over the next year as well, such as automatic recurring payments, IP merchandise etc….

In order for you to get started, you will need to get your user name and password. If you have signed up for IPNA or Security Patrol in the last year, you are probably already in the system. Click on  ”Join IPNA and Security Patrol” on the homepage and when the login page comes up, click “forgot password?”. It will ask for your e-mail address – use the primary e-mail address that you have used in the past. Your user name and password will be sent to you. Once you login the first time, you can change your password, update your info at any time, renew your membership, and access the Online Directory (as long as your IPNA membership is current). You will be able to tell if you are delinquent on your membership because you won’t be able to use the directory.

If you are uncertain whether you or your spouse/partner were the last ones to use their e-mail address to sign up, or which e-mail address you used, shoot me an e-mail at wedfoto390@yahoo.com and I will look it up for you. We were pretty diligent in making sure everyone who signed up last year is in, including paper applications, but there is the possibility we missed a few – no worries, though. It’s easy to get set up.

If you are not yet in the system,  click on “Join IPNA and Security Patrol” and sign up as a new user. If it tells you that your e-mail address is already in use, see above.

As far as payment, you can choose to pay via credit card or check. Right now, we are accepting Visa and Mastercard only – Amex and Discover should be working in the next week. We are using a secure payment portal that is safe and easy to use. If you choose to pay by cash or check, your account will be activated once we receive payment.

We know that this new system is going to be much easier to use than Paypal and will be able to grow with us as we add new features and services.

A huge debt of gratitude goes out to James McManus for maintaining the oline database on his server for so long and more importantly, holding our Paypal account in his name.

Again, if you have any issues or questions feel free to contact me at wedfoto390@yahoo.com.

Atlanta Eats Filming | Barcelona Thursday Lunch

Looking for a break as you prepare for Festival?  How about lunch at Barcelona on Thursday?

This Thursday, 4/25, “Atlanta Eats” is filming a segment at Barcelona! As part of their segment, they need to shoot b-roll and conduct guest testimonials from 11:30am – 1:00pm in the bar area of our restaurant.  We want to fill the bar area for the filming!  This is truly for those who live/work in the area and would like the opportunity to be on camera.  Come have a drink or enjoy lunch Thursday between 11:30 am and 1 pm!  Bring a friend.

The bar area seats 50-60 people and I ask that you please help me spread the word to your friends in the area and see if they’re interested in coming down.

THANK YOU and ENJOY FESTIVAL!

Krog St. tunnel intermittently closed Wednesday April 17, 9pm-2am

We've received the following information:
Please be advised the west (southbound) lane of the Krog Street tunnel will be intermittently closed to traffic on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 between the hours of 9pm and 2am for a Turner Broadcasting/Cartoon Network still photography shoot.

Traffic will remain open in the east lane for traffic in both directions.  APD police officers will be intermittently allowing traffic through at both ends of the tunnel so traffic disruption will be at a minimum.
We will make every effort to minimize the impact on traffic during those  hours and appreciate your cooperation and patience.
